Moving Update

Even though I quit my job 2 weeks ago, it feels like I have had a job this whole time. Moving is sooo TIME CONSUMING!!

What I have been up to:

Basically lived at the dmv for a whole week
Last week I spent HOURS at the Kansas dmv trying to renew my plates. I got there at 1:30 on a Monday afternoon and was told to go home because there was a 4.5 hour wait. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

I had to go back to the dmv FOUR TIMES either because the wait was over 3 hours or because I was given the wrong information (annoying). Not impressed Kansas!!

This is a sign that was sitting on the dmv desk. "There is a $2.00 Annex convenience fee Charged with each transaction." You are right, it is not convenient! And why is "Charged" capitalized?

Painting Up a Storm
I wanted to do some color changes throughout the house, so we spent a LOT of time (along with the help of family) to paint the kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom and a bathroom. Post to come on all of these changes.

The color of the dining room before.
Packing like it's my job...oh wait, it is my job
Trent is a salesman for a freight company called ABF, so they moved us for free by dropping an ABF "Upack" in our driveway. The trailer was literally as big as our apartment.

And now our house has nothing in it but a bed. And this iMac. Proof below.

Eating lots of fast food
Literally everything is packed up but some refrigerated items and a few snacks. We have had to eat out a LOT which is actually kind of fun. But unhealthy. I wanted a PB&J the other day and had to use a paint stick as a knife. Don't judge my life.

Sonic drive-thru with Gracie the mullet pup.

So we officially move into our new house in Topeka tomorrow morning. I'm getting really excited about the move...mostly because I can't wait to decorate my house. It is looking so cute!!

Our internet will not be setup until Monday so expect minimal blog posts in the coming week. Also expect lots of interior design posts and a post about Beauty Brands $7.98 hairspray that I keep forgetting to write about.

Have a great weekend!!

  1. I'm in ACE Training and I accidentally laughed out loud when you said you used paint sticks to make a PB&J. My teacher "Cha Cha" gave me a bad look. No judgement on the sticks though!!
